Credit to the group of swimmers who every fortnight have braved the winter cold and come along to swim club on Friday nights.
You have shown immense commitment to swimming through the winter months and achieving many great personal bests along the way.
The club will celebrate the final night of the winter season on August 30 with a fun relay night with presentations and a sausage sizzle for all.
During the holidays three Basin swimmers Tara Bellwood, Jasmine Greenwood and Chelsea Pascoe proudly represented the club at the NSW Short Course Country Championships.
Well done to all of you on this fantastic achievement.
Jasmine Greenwood was able to extend her holidays by a week, having qualified for school swimming nationals held in Melbourne from July 20 to 26.
Jasmine, 9, is a multiclass S9 Sb9 swimmer who surprised herself and her family with absolutely fantastic results at the meet.
Jasmine swam amazing times in her individual events with only 12-year-old swimmers beating her for the gold.
Jasmine was also chosen as a member of the NSW freestyle, medley and mixed relay teams.
Overall Jasmine won one gold, five silver, two bronze and one fourth place.
First weekend of term saw 13 BBASC swimmers journey down the coast for the annual Ulladulla SC Development Carnival.
Indiana Graham, Jack Norton, Chelsea Pascoe and Janae Peterson swam fantastic times in races they had never entered in before.
Lucy Graham, Felicity Hector, Conor McLean, Chelsea Pascoe, Gabi Peterson, Janae Peterson, Noah Simpson, Timira Squires-Thomas, Hannah Thompson and Anna Turner all swum at least one personal best on the day.
Special recognition must go to Kaitlyn Sennitt, who swam massive personal bests in each of the six races she entered.
Congratulations to medallists Conor McLean (three gold, one silver, one bronze), Jack Norton (one silver), Chelsea Pascoe (four gold, two silver and one bronze), Gabi Peterson (one gold), Janae Peterson (one silver), Kaitlyn Sennitt (one silver), Noah Simpson (one silver) and Hannah Thompson (one gold).
BBASC club nights are held weekly on Friday evenings from 5pm, during the summer season and fortnightly during winter, with our next to be held on Friday, August 1.
