The club welcomed Ken Foster, president of the Eurobodalla Photographic Club, as guest judge for the evening.
For the workshop segment of the meeting, Brett Davis gave a presentation on creating dynamic monochrome images.
This was very informative and also entertaining.
Ken judged the images entered for assessment, giving a considered and useful critique of each photograph.
He awarded the best of set subject to Sue Tolley for her lovely and gentle, candlelit portrait of a little boy titled ‘Captivated’.
Sue Josephson was awarded best of open section for her image ‘Mangroves at Night’.
This photo was taken at night, from the boardwalk at the Lady Denman Heritage Centre.
Sue used a torch to light paint the scene during the exposure of the image.
The next meeting of the club is on Tuesday, August 12.
This is also the annual general meeting.
Members are encouraged to come forward and stand for the committee to assist in the running of the club and bring in fresh ideas.
Membership fees for 2014–2015 are now due.
The set topic for assessment is ‘twisted’.
The workshop will be on light painting at night.
This will be hands on; attendees will need a camera, tripod, a torch and remote control if possible.
The Bay and Basin Camera Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at the Huskisson Community Centre in Dent Street, Huskisson.
Visitors are always welcome.
