I NOTE with interest a letter from B. Lines attacking Gareth Ward in last week’s paper. I also note that Mr Lines, who lives at Lake Tabourie, doesn’t live in Mr Ward’s electorate.

I note that in spite of not living in Mr Ward’s electorate, Mr Lines sent letters to both the South Coast Register and Illawarra Mercury praising Labor’s candidate and attacking Mr Ward in what appeared to be an orchestrated attempt at smear.
As a resident of the Kiama electorate that saw years of Labor promises with no delivery, I couldn’t be happier that we have a local boy who has a passion for our community and who has backed up his promises with real action.
Be it upgrades at our hospitals or the enormous work on the Princes Highway, Gareth has delivered as he said he would. I note that Labor’s candidate hasn’t made a single commitment or promise as to what he would do.
I’ll stick with the local bloke who is doing a great job rather than the recently relocated Labor candidate who can only muster carping and criticism but no promises or commitments to our region.
Talk is cheap – actions speak louder than words.
