BAD weather kept all but seven Culburra Fishing Club anglers from fishing this month with no beach, rock and estuary fished.

All the juniors stayed in bed.

For deep sea first was Jesse Jackson, second was Margaret Roth, third was Joelene Paterson, fourth was Richard Findley and fifth was Werner Roth.

Bag limits of flathead were caught by Margaret, Kerrie, Werner and Joelene.

The seven angles weighed in 10 different species including flathead, morwong, bream, red rock cod, trevally, salmon, tailor, luderick, garfish and wrasse.

Fish of the month is Morwong and the best when going to print was Richard Findley weighing 1.045 kilograms.

Many thanks to all that helped me in last season’s competition, especially my assistant weigh masters Frank and Joan, and helper Barry.

Elected again for the third year I am looking forward to working with our two new assistant weigh masters, Cherry and Martin.

Culburra club’s next competition is August 2 and 3 and fish of the month will be bream and must be 25 centimetres.

See you then for round two.

Rodless, weigh master.
