More than 100 local groups and organisations attended a reception at the Nowra Administration Building with representatives from Shoalhaven Heads Surf Lifesaving Club, Legacy, Marine Rescue and the CWA among those in attendance.
Shoalhaven Mayor, Joanna Gash said the morning tea was council’s way of recognising the work carried out by the area’s many volunteer organisations.
“Shoalhaven City is extremely lucky to have so many dedicated and hardworking residents prepared to volunteer their time for the betterment of the wider community,” Cr Gash said.
“It is not until you stop and consider the effect these organisations have on the lives of many residents that you can gain a true appreciation for the role they play within the local community.”
