LONG-TIME school teacher Bob Mortyn from Bomaderry celebrated his retirement after 40 years in education on Saturday evening.

Around 85 guests gathered at the Bomaderry Bowling Club to farewell the primary school stalwart.
Bob began his career at a one teacher school north of Albury.
He then moved to the Shoalhaven, where he spent 16 years at Nowra East Public School, followed by two years at Kangaroo Valley Public, 16 at Cambewarra Public and finally five and a half at Nowra Public School.
“I’ve always enjoyed being with kids. I love their curiosity and their desire to learn,” he said.
Bob’s plans are visit with his grandchildren and spend some time “on the road doing a bit of grey-nomading”.
