ARE we stupid? War in a densely populated, maze-like city, of course there will be civilian casualties. Mostly children, women, and old people, who cannot dance around bombs and bullets fast enough. We're stupid to expect anything else, no matter how “pinpoint” accurate the weapons used.

Are we so obtuse as to expect any people to do nothing when barrage after barrage after barrage of rockets and missiles are lobbed indiscriminately into civilian areas? Of course there will be a violent response.
Hamas’s Covenant (1988) calls for Israel’s destruction; Israeli MKs call for the expulsion of Palestinians from Israel and the West Bank, for their murder. Israel pays rabbis who legitimise killing Muslims; Hamas martyrs those who kill Jews. When will it stop?
Our choice: emulate Israelis and Palestinians who – together – cry, “Enough is enough”.
Mourn their lost children as we mourn ours. Build a path of hope for each other as we demand for ourselves. Or prepare for hundreds more deaths of innocents every few years.
