This is the first time Nowra has become the state pennant winners for division two and three.
During April and May Nowra fielded the two divisions in the NSW State Pennants for golf croquet.
The state was divided into southern, metropolitan north and northern regions and games consisted of three matches of singles and doubles in round-robin competition.
Both Nowra teams contested games at Jamberoo, Wollongong, Sutherland and in Nowra before progressing to the finals.
The division three team consisted of Annette Morris, Val Pickard, Terry Hoffman, Glyn Williams and Carol Williams, who all played in their first inter club competition, and Ann Worrall and Fay Marks.
Keith Poynter was captain/manager.
The division two team consisted of Phil Pickard and Mike McKenzie, both in their first inter club competition, and David Turvey, Wayne Worrall and Pat Poynter, who was also captain/manager.
Following on the success of the teams and standards achieved the club hopes to field a division one team as well in next year’s competition.
