On Thursday the ACT boys practised among themselves but on Friday it was a full game of 21 ends against the Basin boys.
In the end it was the hosts who won 3 1/2 rinks to 1/2.
A great morning was had by all and we are hoping to make this an annual event. We would like to wish the ACT all the best in their up-coming national titles at Ipswich in September.
The second round of minor pairs was played on Saturday and the results were: Bob Duncan/Nev Hutching 26 d John Dunn/Bernie Dowling 9, Steve Smith/Clive Polley 24 d Barry Edwards/Dave Robinson 23, Bernie Sparks/Rob Reid 22 d Don MacKenzie/John Bossini 15 and Paul and Gavin Thorpe 26 d John Harris/Jim Dinnes 11.
On Sunday the semi-finals were played and the winners were Bob Duncan/Nev Hutching 26 d Steve Smith/Clive Polley 8 and Bernie Sparks/Rob Reid 21 d Paul and Gavin Thorpe 18.
The final will be played this Sunday afternoon.
The mixed pairs entry is up and closes on Friday, August 1 at 4pm and it will start on Saturday, August 9.

Friday social winners were Joe Schembri and Clarrie Hawking, runners-up were Jim Dinnes, Dan Lethlane and Matt Goward and the lucky losers' prize went to Dennis Rowney and John Tysoe.
The Bay and Basin Automotive jackpot of $190 did not go off.
