ACE: A hole in one is every golfers dream, but two were scored at Worrigee Links recently. Congratulations to Kel Turner, who recorded his ace on the 17th hole and Sue Earle, who recorded her ace on the eighth hole.

A SINGLE Stableford event sponsored by KT's Mechanical Repairs was played at Worrigee Links last Saturday.

On a wind swept day, Col Burgess only needed 36 points to win the A grade section.

The runner-up was Kurt Gacki who double bogied the 17th hole, but still managed to survive on a countback from third placed Paul Harris, both on 35 points.

The B grade winner was Mark Anderson, who teed off in the first group and took advantage of better conditions to record 42 points.

Runner-up was Kel Turner, who survived on a countback from third placed Fred Curbishley, both on 39 points.

The C grade winner and playing in his first competition game was Jonathon Clark, who scored a whopping 47 points.

Runner-up was Brad Menhennett with good score of 39 points.

Third place went to Terry Wynn with 38 points.

You needed 35 points or better to win a ball.

Last Thursday’s open competition was won by Dennis Rutherford with an impressive 40 points in windy conditions.

Runner-up was Errol Raddatz with 37 points and third place went to Alan Liebert with 35 points.

Last Sunday was a mixed fourball Stableford competition and the winners were Kel and Val Turner with a good combined score of 46 points.

Runners-up were Bob Bowden and Pat Collier with 44 points.

Once a month the club has the Sunday mixed, so why not grab a partner and have a game?

This Saturday is a single Stableford event.

Hope to see you all then.

Good golfing until next week.
