THE Culburra women last Tuesday held its July monthly meeting and there was a good attendance at the gathering.

President Jenny presented Trish Tom with her number five pennant certificate and she welcomed new bowler Trish Mundy to her first meeting.
After the meeting the semi-final of the club fours was continued from the ninth end under excellent conditions Eileen Hunter, Elaine Turner, Gail Scott and Ruth Joannou played Marilyn O'Day, Sandra Annetts, June Jones and Elaine Parkinson.
Elaine's team scored one shot on the ninth end and led 8-4.
Ruth's team won the next end and secured three shots and were only one shot behind 8-7.
Ruth's team won the next three ends and went to a seven shot 15-8 lead.
Elaine's team stepped up their game and won the next six ends and led 23-15. Ruth's team won the 21st and the final score was 23-18.
On Thursday the final of the club fours was played.
Marilyn O'Day, Sandra Annetts, June Jones and Elaine Parkinson played Nancy Hibbert, Annette Barry, Betty Oldfield and Thelma Cooley.
Elaine's team were red hot and won the first three ends and held a considerable lead.
Thelma's team started to win ends and on the 10th end scores were close. Elaine's team stepped up their game keeping Thelma's team from scoring, winning the next six ends and going on to win.
Congratulations to Marilyn O'Day, Sandra Annetts, June Jones and Elaine Parkinson who all played excellent bowls to win the clubs fours.
Congratulations also to Nancy Hibbert, Annette Barry, Betty Oldfield and Thelma Cooley as worthy runner-ups
