Once again the event is set to draw a large number of players with the hope of bettering last year’s field of 153 players.
This year there will be over $2000 worth of Taylor Made and Adidas equipment and clothing up for grabs, and with the club’s recent pennant success, the locals are lining up to try and take the title.
Last year Graeme Todd-Wilson, the Nowra Golf Club legend with 21 club championships to his name, was too good for the field, winning in a play-off over local Irishman Gary Roche and Russell Vale’s Matt Mitchell.
The very windy conditions made scoring tough with all three players tied on four over par after 18 holes.
A par on the first play-off hole was enough for Graeme to take the title.
This year if weather permits, and as the course and greens are in superb condition, a score below par will be required for the win.
Already nominations are starting to roll in with the timesheet open in the pro shop.
There are scratch and nett prizes on offer over three grades, so everyone with a GA handicap is welcome to come along.
For anyone wishing to play please contact Greg or the team in the pro shop on 4448 8683.
