Businesses to benefit

SMALL-TO-MEDIUM enterprises (SMEs) across the South Coast now have better opportunities to tender for work with the NSW government.

Changes to the government’s prequalification scheme implemented on July 1 mean government agencies are required to seek at least one quote from a small-to-medium business for contracts worth up to $1 million.

The new rules mean South Coast businesses could be in the running for additional work, with the potential to increase employment opportunities for local residents and bolster the local economy.
