The Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre’s members’ club was launched last week.
Dennis and Merrin Ross from North Nowra were among the first 40 people to sign up at last week’s club launch.
Mr and Mrs Ross jumped at the opportunity because they love live entertainment.
“I have the desire to see community theatre and to see this venue flourish for the community,” Mr Ross said.
“The more community members involved in the facility the better and faster it will grow.
“The intimacy of live entertainment is what I like most and you just don’t get that from pre-recorded,” he said.
Mrs Ross thought for $40 a year, the membership was reasonably priced and had a great deal of
benefits.
“Because we signed up on the night of the launch we received free tickets to a show, we’re planning to use ours in August to see Silver Screen Classics starring Jonathon Welch,” she said.
“Plus we get a complimentary drink and discounted tickets and updates on the latest shows.
“The interaction you get between the stage and the audience is what I like most.
“It’s a very social setting.”
Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre manager Bob Mangan said the members’ club is a great opportunity for people to learn more about live entertainment and get involved in the community.
“Members have access to pre-sales, e-news to inform them on upcoming events, discounted tickets and complimentary tickets where we can,” he said.
“We will also work behind the scenes to possibly offer opportunities to meet entertainers after their shows.
