The students have been practising for months to ready themselves for their HSC.
Year 12 students Rebekah Douglas, Elise Norwood, Katie Strutt, Tayla Pignataro and Glen Matheson are among 66 dancers at the school who hope to be nominated for Callback, which is the showcase of top performances and compositions by HSC students of dance.
Continuing the school’s tradition of quality dance, Nowra High School dance teacher Leigha Buikstra said the standard seen at the trial HSC this week was excellent.
“Our dancers are always dedicated and committed to producing a high standard of work,” she said.
Nowra High School dancers from three different dance companies have recently received a first, second and highly commended at the Shoalhaven Eisteddfod, proving the high standard of dance continues to grow.
Callback announcements will be made later this year.
If you want to see the student’s routines, Nowra High School is hosting a HSC dance showcase on Thursday, July 17 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in the school hall.
It is free for anyone to attend.
