UBS is one of the largest financial institutions with offices around the world.
Ms Rogers was one of only 50 public school Australian students to be selected to attend the week-long residential program.
Students were selected based on their passion and aptitude for business, economics and other finance-related subjects.
The course provides them with a practical understanding of global financial markets while highlighting the wide range of careers in the industry.
“It’s been very tiring but an amazing experience so far,” Ms Rogers said.
“My business studies teacher gave me the form the day before it was due and I filled it out that night.”
Although the year 11 student has her heart set on a career as a doctor, the insight into business will be valuable to her in the future.
“I want to own and run my own medical practice one day so this will be really helpful.”
Over the course of the week students listen to industry figures and take a field trip to UBS’s live trading floor.
