There was plenty of run on the course and the greens were quick and unforgiving.
No-one wanted to be outside for longer than necessary so players kept up a good pace too.
Gusts of wind swept across the fairways and hanging on to hats and scorecards was challenging.
Making it back to the clubhouse in good time was on everyone’s mind and kept us all focused. The conditions must have suited some of our players though, and there were some pretty good scores posted.
The event was sponsored by Michael and Helen Wright from Nowra Washing Machine Repairs and Helen was on hand to present trophies to the winners. In division one Wendy Phillips played well to score 34 points. Jenny Parnell, on 32 was runner-up.
Jean Imlay and Joyce Wallace went head to head in division two, both scoring 30 points with Jean just ahead on the count back.
Division three winner this week was Ellen Ryan on 33 and Anne Newton was runner-up with 31 points.
Nearest to the pins for divisions one, two and three respectively were Sue Hunter, Val Wilson and Sonja Van Hoof.
On the 17th hole Jill Levi and Marilyn Burney were closest.
Jill Levi also won the jackpot hole on the 16th.
The ball rundown went to 26 Stableford points and there were 11 places. Congratulations and well done to all our winners and to those who braved the elements anyway.
WGN would like to thank Nowra Washing Machine Repairs for their generous sponsorship and look forward to their next event.
Tomorrow we will play our favourite round of par or, for those who don’t see the point, a nine-hole Stableford option is available.
Whatever you choose, check your start time and come join the fun.
Good golfing ladies.
