The activity is undertaken to minimise the risks associated with a bushfire at the Beecroft Weapons Range and surrounding areas.
The Department of Defence will endeavour to conduct the hazard reductions burns on weekdays; however, dependent on the weather burns may need to be conducted over a weekend.
An assessment of the weather conditions will be undertaken each day.
Beecroft Weapons Range will be closed to public access while the burns are being staged.
It is anticipated that the overall requirement to close Beecroft Weapons Range will be no greater than five days during the period.
