Council plans maintenance along the Basin View walking track between Palm Beach and Wool Lane, Sanctuary Point in the coming months.
Ranger services manager, Michael Jarman said council was trying to contact boat owners to ensure their removal, which would allow council staff to undertake general maintenance of the foreshore, including mowing and upkeep of the walking tracks.
Council will do a letter box drop to alert local residents and boat owners to the upcoming works.
“If the owners of the boats and dinghies on the foreshore cannot be located by July 21, council will place an impound sticker on the craft, allowing the owners a further seven days to remove the boat,” Mr Jarman said.
“Boats that remain after that date will be considered abandoned and impounded by council for a further 28 days and depending on the value and condition of the boat, unclaimed vessels will be either auctioned off, or used as landfill.”
Inquiries can be directed to the rangers office on 4429 3433.
