But when the tree blew down in the winds on Saturday, Larna was devastated.
Little did the Robertson bride know, her luck was about to change.
On Sunday, at the South Coast Register Bridal Expo, she was announced as the 2014 winner of the Wedding Wishlist giveaway. LTPS/14/03751
With more than $4000 worth of prizes and vouchers to help her create the wedding day of her dreams, Larna said the couple will now be able to relax and enjoy planning their special day.
“Beau and I just started a business and I’ve been working six days a week to save money for the wedding,” she said.
“This will take a lot of pressure off.
“When I phoned Beau to tell him he thought I was joking.”
Also full of smiles on the day was Numbaa’s Megan Gavenlock who was announced as the 2014 South Coast Register Bridal Expo Bride of the Year.
Megan, who married her dairy farmer husband, Adam in November last year, won a fantastic prize pack and said she loved the chance to wear her wedding dress again.
Megan and Adam welcomed their baby son Dale into the world just 10 weeks ago.
This year’s South Coast Register Bridal Expo has been hailed a great success, with a record number of stall holders and a bumper crowd in attendance.
A total of 148 brides-to-be were welcomed at the door, many of them bringing with them their partners, mothers, family members and friends.
Co-ordinator Tracy Reece said it had been a thrill to present such a successful community event that supported local businesses and showcased the local bridal industry.
“It was fantastic to see such a large number of brides and their families there,” Ms Reece said.
“All of our exhibitor stalls looked amazing and really added to the atmosphere.
“When the fashion parade was on I looked around the room and it was full of smiles, not only from the brides-to-be and their families but also from my exhibitors.”
The South Coast Register’s annual bridal magazine, Weddings Shoalhaven 2014/2015 was also launched at the expo.
For brides to be who may have missed out, the magazine is available free at participating outlets throughout the Shoalhaven as well as our office at Kinghorne Street, Nowra.
