SATURDAY’S Callala Men's Golf Club game was a monthly medal combined with men’s qualifier for single match play at Callala.

The course today was to prove a little kinder to players who were able to keep the ball on the fairways. Those who took advantage of this offering were rewarded with some good run which of course is always greatly appreciated.

The weather was to prove a bit bothersome with many a great drive spoiled by sudden gusts that changed the path of the ball into the trees instead of the middle of the fairway.

At the end of play all players were presented with a great lunch, which was prepared and served by Gordana Sesum and Jamie Reardon.

A big thanks to both of you it sure hit the spot after a challenging day on the course.

To the victors the spoils and for the rest of us we just had to settle for the great food and the determination to play better next week.

HANDSHAKE: Jamie Reardon was presented his C grade monthly mug by club captain Ilija Sesum.

Talking of spoils and victors, captain Ilija Sesum was to show the rest of us how the game should be played.

Ilija not only took out overall bragging rights but was also victorious in winning his A grade monthly mug.

Well done Ilija, now make sure you take that good form to Worrigee on Monday for our inter club challenge.

Club president, Col Chessell demonstrated some great golf as he played his way into the winners circle and in doing so took out the B grade monthly mug.

Great effort Col and it is good to see that you are encouraging the ball to do as you tell it. I will have to exchange a couple of mine for yours so you can educate them for me.

Overall runner up and C grade monthly mug winner today was to go to Jamie Reardon who is certainly enjoying his golf with this win on top of last week’s win.

Congratulations Jamie and of course we also expect great things from you on Monday at Worrigee.

The successful players from the qualifier will be advised of their success and who they will play off against. Hopefully this draw will be available next week.
