This was a great day with district president Dorothy Sullivan and executive in attendance.
The winners Ex-Servos and the runners-up Nowra Bowling Club sat down with the clubs who played in the No. 4 pennant to a delicious morning tea then went outside for the unfurling of the flag and the official photos.
District president Dorothy Sullivan presented the Ex-Servo pennant side with their badges and regional representative Meg McClure presented the side with the regional merit badges.
After the flag raising the players took to the green for a fun game of bowls.
The frosty conditions didn’t deter everyone from having an enjoyable game.
After the game everyone went into the club for a wonderful barbecue lunch, which was prepared by the Men’s Bowling Club.
The ladies supplied the sweets which were numerous and all delicious.
Special guests were district president Dorothy Sullivan, district secretary Louise Tucker, regional representative Meg McClure and chair of match Inger Hall and publicity officer Pat Stoddart.
The club limited was represented by Chairman Kevin Duffey and secretary manager Chris Allen with green keeper Tony Webster, patron Betty Pascall, life member Patti McGuire and umpire Neil Miller.
Club president Isabel McLeod thanked all the special guests for attending and congratulated the Ex-Servo pennant side on their win and wished them good luck and good bowling when they go to Raymond Terrace in August for the State Flag playoffs.
President Isabel also congratulated the runners up Nowra Bowling Club and thanked the men’s club for cooking the barbecue and the ladies for supplying the sweets.
She also thanked vice presidents Barbara Montgomery and Shirley Warburton for doing the raffle.
Good luck and good bowling to the players entered in the district champion of club champion singles which started on Tuesday, July 8 at Culburra Bowling Club, with the final being played on Wednesday, July 9 at Berry Bowling Club .
Look forward to seeing you around the greens.
Pat Stoddart.
