Ray Hannett and Allen Sigsworth were pitted against Nick Fowler and Bob Wood and both teams made the final with easy victories in their semi final games.
Ray and Allen had to face last year’s winners, Craig Grandi and David Badger and right from the start Allen’s team took the lead and never looked back.
In the other semi final, Bob’s team played Bill Buhagiar and Joe Mejlak.
Once again Nick and Bob led all the way to also register an easy win.
In the final, both teams went shot for shot and after 12 ends, Allen had his nose in front 9-7 shots in a low scoring game.
After 18 ends, Bob had his nose in front 15-14 and the winner was far from being decided.
Scratching their way through the last three ends with one shot wins, Nick and Bob registered another pairs championship to their belts.
Nick and Bob were joined by David Badger in the semi final of the district triples event on Sunday which was played at Bomaderry in fine but cold and extremely windy conditions.
Up against Scott Mathieson’s more favoured Lake Conjola side, the Currarong boys kept in touch with them early in the game.
A few winning ends by the opposition saw Scott take a handy 19-7 shot lead before David’s team hit back to be 23-18 behind with three ends to play.
Not to be outdone, Scott’s team won the final ends to run out convincing winners and advance to the final which they also won.
A few brave souls attempted to play social bowls on Tuesday in horrifically windy conditions.
After 16 ends, stumps were called and in the warmth of the clubhouse Dennis Fenton, Frank Middleton and Allen Sigsworth were declared the winners.
Bill Nash, Bob Wood and Peter Child were runners up.
Saturday’s mixed bowlers also played in cold and windy conditions with Dennis Richardson and Richard Khader winning the day with the largest winning margin.
Runners-up were Jock Cooper, Margaret Young and Peter Child.
The pool comp players enjoyed the warmth of the Club for their games on Friday night where Chris and Matt found themselves winners.
Judy and Geoff were runners-up.
