SHOALHAVEN played host to some of the best young players in the state at the South Coast Junior Australian Football League Carnival, held on the weekend.
Artie Smith Oval, Nowra Showground and West Street Oval were the three venues, with under 12s, 14s and 16s age competition’s contested.
Hunter took out the under 16s by a country mile in the final against Illawarra at Artie Smith.
It was the same two teams in the under 14s decider at Nowra Showground, but this time Illawarra had more luck, taking the crown after performing well all weekend.
Sapphire Coast took out the silverware in the under 12s, proving too strong for Hunter in their final at West Street Oval.
The best result for the Shoalhaven teams was the under 14s, who were unable to go back to back after winning last year, but did a great job to reach the semi finals.
