“I’m expecting to build on the election commitments I made in 2011 and to deliver on those promises,” Mr Ward said.

“That includes the largest ever single investment in the history of the Princes Highway with the continuation of work at Gerringong, the commencement of work on the Foxground and Berry bypass and further planning of the Berry to Bomaderry upgrade and the Shoalhaven River third crossing.”

Mr Ward said he hoped there would be funds to continue planning for the Albion Park Rail bypass “to eliminate the only set of traffic lights between Bomaderry and Heathcote”.

“While not in the Shoalhaven I would also like to see money to progress the F6 extension to make travel by road to Sydney easier for business and commuters,” he said.

On the other big issue affecting his constituents, sufficient parking at the rapidly expanding hospital precinct in Nowra, Mr Ward was less confident.

“Obviously we had secured 124 parking spaces but more are needed and I’m continuing to take this matter up with the Health Minister. I haven’t been told there will be money in budget for this.”
