POLICE are appealing for information from the public following the death of a man, whose body was found at Jamberoo Mountain lookout on Sunday morning.

The man has been named as 48-year-old John Gasovski. Police said he died as a result of a wound to his head. His family have told police they believed he was on a business trip
About 8.45am, police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were called to Jamberoo Mountain Road, Budderoo, after a park ranger found the man’s body.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.
State Emergency Services conducted a co-ordinated search of surrounding bushland.
Detectives from Lake Illawarra local area command have formed Strike Force Berek to investigate the death, which is being treated as suspicious.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Lake Illawarra Local Area Commander, Detective Superintendent Wayne Starling, will hold a press conference at the Oak Flats Police Station from midday on Monday appealing for public assistance.
