The steel, which was to form the trusses and frame of the house, was taken from a property in Nowra.
The theft would have had to involve a truck to remove the items.
That truckload was found at 10am on Thursday when two search warrants were executed at properties in Oxford Street at South Nowra and Nerriga.
The raids uncovered a number of stolen items including cars, boats, two large caravans worth about $50,000 each, a bobcat, a rifle ammunition and numerous other items including tools believed to be stolen.
Head of Shoalhaven detectives Sergeant Scott Nelson said the operation targeted the distribution and supply of crystal methamphetamine in the Shoalhaven.
“We appeal to anyone who has information in regard to the supply of these or any drug to phone Nowra detectives on 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
