A gentle north-east breeze settled in for the three hours of racing around a triangular course.
Eighty-two year-old Jim Bradley had an exciting day.
He not only celebrated his birthday, but had two first places.
The results for the day are as follows:
First – Fred Elphinstone, 27 points.
Second – Ken Smith, 28 points.
Third – on a countback, Kevin Wingate on 30 points.
Fourth – Tony Blackmore, 30 points.
Fifth – Kevin Elphinstone, 34 points.
Sixth – Vance Grant-Mitchell, 35 points
Seventh – Ron Elphinstone, 38 points
Eighth – Jim Bradley, 42 points.
Ninth – Duncan Craig, 49 points. He only sailed in the afternoon.
The Basin Radio Yact Club was formed three years ago and now has 23 members.
Members meet at the wharf at the end of Island Point Road, Georges Basin on Saturdays and Tuesdays and start sailing at 10.30am either for racing or tuition and practice.
The club will meet again this Saturday.
