THE 147 photographs in the Shoalhaven Rotary Fund-raising Raffle Calendar competition were shortlisted to 36 and then culled to the final 12.
A photo titled Sunrise over Tabourie Island by John Cooper from Mollymook Beach was awarded the cover shot position.
“I was quite surprised,” Mr Cooper said.
“That shot was taken very early in the morning. I went down there with a torch before the sun came up – it was pitch black.
“That photo was taken before the sun came up and I was lucky it was such good light that morning.
“I think the calendar is an excellent idea and it’s great that it can raise money.
“I just like the fact that people like the photos,” he said.
Mr Cooper’s winning photo was shot on a Canon 5D MkII with a 24-105 lens, at an ISO of 100, on an aperture of f22 using an exposure of 30 seconds.
The Rotary clubs of Nowra, Sussex Inlet and Milton Ulladulla joined forces to sell the Shoalhaven calendars to raise funds.
Three local photographers judged the images each month. Last Thursday the final judging took place.
