The old wooden footbridge adjacent to the Mountain View Village Caravan Park was replaced by a new metal super structure.
Contractors Brefni, from The Oaks, and a local crew from Nowra Cranes undertook the delicate operation of removing the old wooden bridge supports, dodging low overhead power lines and the village’s nearby water main.
Telstra optical fibre was also relocated to make way for the new 16 metre long and two metre wide structure.
The main road into the village was closed to traffic while the work was carried out.
Decking and associated paths will be put in place in coming days with the project expected to be completed by the end of next week.
The project is valued at $180,000.
