We actually had a good weekend for fishing and it was great to see so many people actually fishing.
It was good to see Nev Whalan, Barry Moore and Bob Shubert’s names appear on the results sheet again, it has been a while.
Bobby Shubert brought along a friend, Brian Goodsell, who we hope will be joining the club in the near future.
Those who fished the deep-sea had good catches of flathead, morwong and snapper, with Barry Preston and Ray Smith catching some nice kingfish from the blue water.
Samone Preston and Sandy Singleton had good catches from the beach and estuary, as did Josh and Mitchel Preston.
It was good to see we had three sub-juniors fishing in the competition.
The results for competition 11 are as follows:
Sub-juniors – winner Riley Preston, runner-up Miya Preston.
Beach – winner Mitchel Preston, runner-up Josh Preston.
Rock – winner Paul Gray.
Deep-sea – winner Matt Moon, runner-up John Burns.
Blue water – winner Barry Preston, runner-up Ray Smith.
Ladies – winner Samone Preston, runner-up Sandy Singleton.
Nominations are now open for positions on the committee for the new and up and coming fishing season.
The AGM will be held in the function room at the main club in Junction Street on June 26 commencing at 7pm.
The next competition for the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s Fishing Club will be held on June 14 and 15 with fish of the month being snapper.
Until next competition, good fishing.
Ray.
