Berry Magpies players Sam Stevenson, Dean Kinlyside, Lachlan Morris and Ben Mallia, Keneti Carrett from Culburra Dolphins and Austin Thompson from the Bomaderry Swamp Rats all were named in the 20-man under 14s squad to represent Group 7.
In the under 15s Bomaderry’s Drew Gough and Tyson Simpson, Culburra’s Ari Deleperanche and Jayden Kelly, and Sussex Inlet’s Kaha-Nui-Kei Solomona wore the blue and gold for Group 7.
Despite putting in a valiant effort, the under 14s had some tough opponents in Illawarra who won 24-4, and then Group 11, which saw Group 7 go down 34-20 and leave the tournament without a win.
The under 15s played Group 16 on Sunday morning, with Bomaderry’s Simpson and Gough opening the scoring in their Group 7’s 24-12 win.
But that afternoon they could not continue their strong form and went down to VRL 46-10.
