The calendar will be launched on Friday, October 24 at Bomaderry Bowling Club and the targeted charity this year is the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
“This charitable organisation has been an absolute pleasure to be associated with and their aims of Research, Awareness and Support target multiple facets of the prostate cancer battle,” calendar committee member, Cathy Russell said.
“The calendar committee is delighted to be associated with them once again.”
The athletes this year are Andrew Ellis, Nathan Golding, Geoff Johnson, Scott Fagerlund, Matt Rowe, Michael Moss, Jordy Pearson, Rodney Craig, Kurt Quinlan, Matthew Bell, David Hampton and Luke McNeill.
They cover Australian rules, cricket, football, rugby league, golf, mixed martial arts and freestyle motorcross.
The calendar committee has also made a commitment to support research to treat spinal injuries.
Last weekend one of the calendar men, Jordy Pearson, sustained a serious spinal injury while playing AFL.
“Jordan has received amazing support from his family and friends, the Shoalhaven sporting community and medical staff at the hospitals he has been in,” Russell said.
“The aims of the calendar are to promote men’s health and we can’t think of a more appropriate beneficiary than one in which research is conducted to treat these often life changing injuries.”
A proportion of the proceeds this year will be donated to this cause.
