Last Sunday’s ride to Comerong Island was attended by five riders.
Three started from the information centre and were then joined by another two cyclists at the ferry.
The gravel road had just been graded so most of the ruts were eliminated, and the cyclists were surprised to find that the reserve track was reasonably dry to the break wall.
The riders succeeded to dodge the forecasted rain, until returning to the ferry, but then encountered a heavy downpour through Terara.
The party proceeded to Nowra Fresh Vegetable Market, for refreshments and to warm the damp and cold bodies.
This Thursday’s midweek mountain bike ride will start at 9am from the northern end of Tourist Road behind Cambewarra Mountain.
It will be a 35 kilometre undulating mountain bike ride to Leebold Hill lookout in the Red Rocks Nature Reserve.
Riders will experience bitumen with some traffic, unsealed roads and short section of sandy/rock track.
Refreshments in Berry after the ride.
Bring water and snacks.
