Police are appealing for information after a shot was fired during a home invasion at Warilla early Wednesday.

About 12.30am a man wearing a balaclava allegedly entered a unit on Peterborough Avenue and discharged a firearm. The round hit a freezer located in the kitchen.
Officers have been told the man then left the unit and was last seen running north towards a vehicle on View Street.
The four occupants of the home were not injured during the incident.
Police from Lake Illawarra attended the unit and established a crime scene.
A police dog was able to track a scent to View Street, where the man is believed to have entered a car that drove away.
Descriptions of the man and vehicle are currently unavailable.
