Known as the Half Time Auskickers, this gives junior AFL players the opportunity to play at stadiums across Australia, which for many children, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
This allows regional kids to play at the grounds their heroes play on each week.
The night was a success for the Shoalhaven Auskick team members and their coach, James Harris, who all had a great time out on the field.
Goals were scored, marks were taken and there was even a cartwheel performed during the game!
In the spirit of junior AFL, no official score is kept and there are no winners or losers.
However the broad, grinning, red faces that left the oval indicated that everyone was a winner and the participants from Shoalhaven Auskick had an exciting and memorable evening.
Shoalhaven Auskick runs junior AFL for children aged four–10 years.
It is held each Saturday morning at West Street Oval, from 9am to 10.30am. The season runs until August 9.
Shoalhaven Auskick is currently on a school holiday break, but restarts on Saturday May 3.
Anyone wishing to participate is welcome to join up.
