The 22-year-old’s mother, Meg wrote a letter to the couple detailing Joscelyn’s interest in the royal family.
According to Joscelyn it all started with Will and Kate’s engagement.
“I like William and Kate and I like George as well,” she said.
“Going back to their wedding and engagement.
“In Hello! magazine, I read about the Royals.”
Joscelyn travelled to Sydney on Wednesday with her father, Todd and sister Monica, 19.
She was one of few, including the Prime Minister, Governor-General and NSW Governor, who had the chance to greet the couple as they arrived disembarked in Sydney.
Joscelyn was fortunate to hold their attention for longer than anyone else.
She gave the couple a bouquet of native Australian flowers and a book, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie My First Book, to eight-month-old George.
“[Kate] said, ‘Thank you’,” Josceyln said.
“It was a short time, we had a little chat. She said, ‘You live in Sydney?’ and I said, ‘No I live on the South Coast!’”
She shook Prince William’s hand.
“He’s fine,” she said.
“George – he’s cute. I said, ‘Hello’.”
Like many, Joscelyn also has an appreciation for Kate’s stylish wardrobe and commented on the sunny, yellow dress by Serbian designer Roksanda Ilinic.
“I liked her dress. I like her fashion,” she said.
The former Vincentia High School student was back to work at the Husky Bakery on Thursday, but she said the memory would stay with her.
“I’m happy and excited,” she said.
“I told all my friends to watch the news.
“I think I will remember this for a long time.”
