REGARDING the possible closure of Milton Library, I find it hard to believe that any of our councillors are literary nincompoops, as suggested by an acquaintance recently, but I am beginning to wonder if there are some who do not really understand the joy and companionship that books can provide.

It seems a great shame that, in pursuit of savings, Shoalhaven City councillors may be prepared to penalise particularly the young, the aged and the infirm, local people who are consistent supporters of the Milton library.
