A new committee was elected and trophies and certificates were awarded for achievements over the 2013/14 season.
Winners of the point score competition and age championships were awarded.
The point score competition operates over the regular season where points are scored by athletes each week.
Points are scored one point per event completed and one point per improvement in an event plus one point per record broken.
The system is designed to reward an individual’s attendance, participation and athletic improvement over the season.
The age championships are held over a three week period during February where points are awarded per finishing place in each event, and then totalled with the highest points in each age group winning.
The system is designed to reward the best overall athlete in each age group.
Congratulations to all the winners of both the point score competition and the age championships.
A full list of trophy recipients can be found in the results section on page 69.
The 2013/14 grand prix winners were also presented with their trophies.
The grand prix competition was judged over four carnivals with competitors from all South Coast Zone Centres.
The Shoalhaven medal winners from this competition were:
Jayla Beresford (second under eight girls), Libby Horgan (third under 10 girls), Hannah Stone (second under 11 girls), Emilia Matthews (third under 11 girls), Joel Horgan (first under 12 boys), Corey McConville (third under 12 boys), Ebony Johnson (first under 13 girls), April Rodda (second under 15 girls) and Cameron Musgrove (first under 15 boys).
The 100 per cent attendance awards were presented to Abbey Poulton, Jordan James, Dakota Farn, Chloe Poulton, Molly Wellington, Jackson Jennings, Joel Horgan, Jarrod James, Ebony Johnson and Dylan Jennings.
This shows commitment and dedication from both athlete and parents for coming along every week.
The encouragement award for the athlete who always tries their best and gives 100 per cent effort while showing great sportsmanship and commitment but without necessarily winning events was awarded to Bailey Morris from the under 12s. Special recognition awards were also presented to Melinda Jennings for Club Person of the Year, and a certificate of appreciation was presented to Sam Bennett and canteen extraordinaire Cheryl for all their assistance over the season.
The committee thanked everyone for a successful
season of athletics.
The 2014/15 season of Little Athletics will begin again in September.
