The state carnival is a premier event in the NSW bowling calendar which will be contested at nine venue clubs throughout the Shoalhaven area.
Shoalhaven City Council mayor, Joanna Gash said she was delighted to see so many bowlers coming to the Shoalhaven saying the event was a huge coup for the area.
“I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone involved in the State Carnival,” said Cr Gash.
“I encourage them all to make the most of our beautiful surroundings and facilities and wish them luck for the competition.”
Women’s Bowls NSW president Robyn Procter said the event is following on from the success of last year’s state carnival, which was also held in the Shoalhaven.
“Our state carnival held in the beautiful Shoalhaven area last year was one of our most successful,” said Mrs Procter.
“We are privileged to have the opportunity again in 2014 to experience the hospitality in this area.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the many players participating as well as our members at all the clubs supporting the carnival.”
The event is being run once again with the generous support of Bomaderry Bowling Club and Shoalhaven City Council in conjunction with Local Sports Tourism Shoalhaven Water, Archer Resort, Holiday Haven Tourist Parks, Bomaderry Bowling Club, George Bass Motor Inn, South Coast Register, 2ST and Power FM.
