The day started with the junior games and the replay of last year’s grand final between St Georges Basin and Bluejays.
The win went Bluejays’ way last year and the team only just had the upper hand on Saturday, winning 8-7.
Callum Mackay took four goals for Bluejays, with Joshua Rickwood claiming four for Basin.
In the other junior match, new team Kangaroo Valley celebrated a 7-1 win over Allsorts.
The men’s competition followed the juniors with another grand final replay between Allsorts and Burrawang.
Allsorts looked to defend their title, but Burrawang had the upper hand on Saturday.
Burrawang star attacker Jack Donovan’s five goals gave his team an unrivalled advantage, with the 2013 runners-up taking the win 6-3.
The Mackay brothers teamed up for Bluejays to claim a 4-nil win over St Georges Basin.
Alex Mackay scored two, with younger brother Callum and L. Edwards making up the four.
In the other men’s game, Kangaroo Valley continued their good form from last season with a 3-1 win over Shoalhaven Heads.
Round one was finished with the women’s games played from 5.30pm.
The two Allsorts teams meet for the first women’s game in another grand final replay.
Allsorts Orange was hoping to avenge their 2013 grand final loss to the Green team, but on Saturday it was neither team’s day.
After a closely fought match, the game finished in a 2-all draw.
The final match of the day saw St Georges Basin defeat Shoalhaven Heads Blue 3-1.
