On the day of the show, the pair pull out their lethal weapons, a small plastic teaspoon, and trial the liquid gold.
They said there is a lot more than meets the eye when it comes down to deciphering the best honey locals have on offer.
For the Goulds the secret to great honey is evenness, fineness, colour, texture, taste, density and brightness.
“Honey entries are up this year,” Mrs Gould said.
“Our section is the sweetest of all.”
