IT is harvest time in the local area for a number of wineries and that means it is also time to experience one of the traditional wine making methods – stomping the grapes.
Gerringong’s Crooked River Wines kicked off its annual stomping of the grapes festival last Saturday, offering people a chance to also raise money for charity while getting among the grape juices.
Dozens of people ditched their shoes and gave their feet a fruity work-out, mixing their glass of chardonnay with a side of grape-stomping.
The festival, to be held throughout February, raises funds for Westmead Children’s Hospital and Cottage Bear.
Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child and bookings are essential.
