The Badgee Urban Release Area was rezoned in 2013 to allow future expansion of Sussex Inlet as part of the Sussex Inlet Settlement Strategy.
Shoalhaven Mayor Joanna Gash welcomed the release of the draft Development Control Plan, saying it broke the Badgee Urban Release Area into four distinct areas and provided details about the desired future character of the individual precincts.
“Given the environmental sensitivities of some areas of the release area the draft DCP also addresses issues including biodiversity, conservation and flooding as well as bushfire and stormwater management,” Cr Gash said.
“I would encourage Sussex Inlet residents to take the opportunity to view the draft DCP and have their say on the future of this area.”
The draft DCP can be viewed at council’s Nowra and Ulladulla administration buildings, the Sussex Inlet Community Centre or via council’s website www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.
Submissions must be received by 5pm Friday, March 7, and quote council’s reference number 47610E.
