Police have been told a 19-year-old man was skateboarding with a group of people at the park in McGrath Avenue, Nowra, about 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday 2 February 2014), when he saw a teenage boy allegedly going through his bag.
The man has challenged the teenager after which the teen has then walked away from the skate park.
Police will allege that the teenager, in company with another youth, returned to the skate park a short time later and threatened the 19-year-old man with a knife and demanded cash from him.
The 19-year-old stated that he did not have any money and both youths have left the area.
As a result of inquiries, police arrested two boys at Bomaderry Railway Station about 6.15pm. A knife was seized and sent for forensic examination.
A 17-year-old boy from Gwynneville and 16-year-old boy from Kemblawarra were taken to Nowra Police Station where they were charged with attempted armed robbery while in company.
They were granted conditional bail to appear at children’s court on 6 March 2014.
