The Shoalhaven City Concert Band played marches, movie themes and pop songs to a rapt audience of residents from Magnolia Cottage and students from the Shoalhaven area, including Havenlee School.
Sue Meade, co-ordinator with the Interchange Holiday Program, said it was a lovely community service on the part of the band.
“There was a great response from the audience, and the kids got up, danced and got really involved,” Ms Meade said.
“Some children who at first were not so
sure the whole thing was a great idea later ended up dancing right in front of the band members.”
Students were allowed to play instruments with the band such as maracas, and a brave few even tried their hand at conducting.
