Phew, just in time! Now Santa had somewhere to land his sleigh early on Christmas morning.
Down on site the bricks, sand and cement were delivered followed by the bricklayers who arrived and quickly got to work laying bricks to the external walls.
A sunny start to summer has meant the weather allowed the bricklaying to be finished by Christmas.
After working so hard on this project, the builders, suppliers and tradespeople can now look forward to a deserved Christmas and New Years break.
Work will recommence in mid-January when the plumbing and electrical internal rough-ins begin and the building will approach lock-up.
This part of construction marks the half-way point and will put us well on track for a May 2014 auction – exactly as planned.
If Christmas is defined as being ‘the season of giving’ then the GJ Variety Freedom House physically embodies the spirit of this special time of year.
On behalf of the GJ Variety Freedom House team we would like to say a huge thank you to everybody involved in this project.
Your hard work and generosity are inspirational and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
This week we would like to thank the following supporters: PowerFM, 2ST and Truss Plus.
We have partnered with the organisation Everyday Hero to fundraise for this project.
