The 27-year-old Sydney man was reportedly swept into the water at about 2am.
Marine rescue boats from Shoalhaven and Port Kembla have been assisting in the search along with the NSW Ambulance helicopter deployed from Albion Park.
Police and ambulance officers are searching the shoreline.
