The Shoals have a proud history in hosting junior rugby union championships, having previously hosted these age groups in 2007, the under 14s and under 15s and the under 16s and under 17s at various times over the past 10 years.
The Shoals have also hosted the NSW CHS and PSSA championships, and in 2011 hosted a SuperRugby trial game between the NSW Waratahs and the Western Force.
The junior rugby championships will bring together teams from all over country NSW, including Far North Coast, Central North, Mid North Coast, New England, Newcastle/Hunter, Central West and its own Illawarra zone.
The influx of over 500 players, plus coaching, support staff, family and spectators will see the Nowra area a hive of activity over the weekend in May.
Shoalhaven Ricoh Rugby Park will be overflowing with all of these junior rugby teams, and the complex will have all of its three top class rugby fields in operation to cope with this huge event.
The Shoalhaven Junior Rugby Club also looks forward to a huge year, and hopes it will have players selected to represent the Illawarra Zone at these championships.
If you are a player who wants to play rugby union in 2014, you can join the Shoalhaven Junior Rugby Club and have an opportunity to get selected to play in these rugby championships in your home town.
The junior Shoals will be having their registration days in February, so keep an eye out for dates and times in the new year.
