Games resume in 2014 on Tuesday, January 14 for the men’s competition and Wednesday, January 15 for the mixed competition.
There will be a barbecue at the grounds this week on both nights for all touch members.
Nowra Shoalhaven Touch wishes all members and their families a safe and happy festive break and look forward to all returning safe, well, and refreshed in the newyear.
In the men’s competition last week the introduction of the two time slots appeared to have the desired effect of producing some high quality games. Officials were pleased with the way games were conducted last week across the board, and it appeared players and officials both enjoyed the evening’s games. Hopefully this trend can continue.
In the mixed competition last week, the association came under pressure to make several referee appointment changes due to people being unavailable understandably at this time of the year.
Thanks sincerely to those team contacts who contacted us early so that additional resources could be arranged.
On that note, thanks to Corey Gould and Trevor Franklin of Culburra Beach Touch Association for stepping in at short notice to help out with refereeing appointments, and also to Tim Sentance who made himself available in his busy schedule.
Apologies to teams Iron Anvil Tattoos, Pitt St Kindy, Nowra Farmers Market and Joel Atfield Roofing for the error in last week’s draw.
Team contacts will be contacted in due course as to possible alternatives.
The points table will currently reflect last Wednesday’s results until alternatives are explored.
Apologies also to Sturty’s Building and Harris Scarfe teams, there were errors with the points table which have now been rectified.
Looking forward in the new year, a review of the mixed competition format will take place and be advertised for the first week back.
General enquiries can be directed to the association secretary, Razz, via text to 0400 036 753.
Association president Dave’s contact is 0419 236 640.
All referee enquiries to referees director Ken on 0432 053 111.
The annual Yass Valley Touch Football Knockout for men’s, women’s and mixed teams will be on again on January 25 to 26, 2014 with $12,000 prizemoney.
Team nominations are $260 and close on January 10, 2014.
